Hey i have my show in two weeks, and i just got my Aqualyze mailed to me. When should I add Aqualyze and how much???
DP: Take 2 AQUALYZE with each meal the day before the competition (that’s 12 pills per day for men and 10 pills per day for women). On Contest Day, take 2 pill with the Post-Prejudging meal.

Hello Dave, i´m following your ketogenic diet with great results and i would like to ask you what´s the best way to cycle cypionate, sustanon and boldenone or deca for someone looking to keep as much mass as possible while in your diet. My weight is 202 lbs and i´ve done only one cycle with boldenone (300 mgs per week during 10 weeks). I would like also to ask you what´s the best way to cycle the same drugs for a bulking cycle, considering that these are the only options that i have here in Brazil. Thanks in advance
DP: Use 250mg Test cypionate every other day (eod) along with 200mg deca eod for the first 8 weeks then switch to 250mg of Sustanon and 200mg EQ eod.

DP: There’s no relation here. If you’re dieting, HGH will help you lose fat and I recommend 2-4 iu per day. I ate McDonalds to put on size and with my fast metabolism I needed all the calories I could get.

I’m going to be playing some rugby, about 4 times a week, 1.5 hrs, soon and I still need to lose some weight but I want to add in some carbs for some energy to play… where and how much should I add in?
DP: Try to add in some extra fat on the days you play rugby. Avoid carbs if you can so you can stay in ketosis. You might be surprised what you can do with very little carbs. If you’re really dragging, add in about 30 grams of brown rice with your meal prior to the rugby match.

Dave what are your thoughts on the Patrick Arnold’s 11-OXO? Im drug free and the only test boosting supps that I would use are either something like novadex-XT or testolyze…would 11-oxo be beneficial as a standalone or is it only used as a bridge before PCT after a AAS or prohormone cycle?
DP: 11-oxo is a cortisol reducing supplement and doesn’t increase testosterone or reduce estrogen. It’s promising for a contest diet, but it’s still too new to know exactly how well it works.

I have about 12 weeks in between shows. Assuming I am lean and competitive at this first one (using your/keto diet), would you recommend getting right back into it the Monday (Saturday show) after the show? Or do I have time do stray away for a few weeks, assuming I do not go crazy? Keep cardio the same as well?
Also, do you recommend a cyclical keto diet for in between shows or just your standard keto diet?
DP: 12 weeks is a lot of time. I would get back on the diet on Monday but reduce your cardio and any fat burning drugs/supplements. Next, slowly raise them back up as the second show approaches.

Just a question with keto/supplements, would a supplement like carnitine be very beneficial to someone trying to lose weight on a keto diet?
As it encourags fats to be used as energy?
DP: I put propionyl-l carnitine in LIPOLYZE and SOMALYZE. Propionyl-L-carnitine has a tremendous ability to penetrate skeletal muscle and thus facilitate the transport of long chain fatty acids into the mitochondria

DP: Save them for the offseason. No additional calories pre-contest.

1)For a clean bulk ( keeping the fat gains to a minimum ), how many calories should I eat above my maintaince level during the 5 days of the week
2)AND what should I do during the weekends, rise even further the caloric suprlus, keep the calories on my maintaince level or run a little caloric deficit ?
DP: 1. There is no set formula (and I will never be able to convince you guys of that fact). Start with my mass diet and adjust it based on your results (less calories if you are storing too much fat; more if you’re not gaining).
2. Eat the same on the weekends as you do during the week. Your body needs the tools to grow 24/7.

DP: 1. WMS comes from corn. Amylopectin or Potato starch “works” by the same mechanism that waxy maize does. They Spike insulin, empty from the stomach rapidly, and because of their large molecular weight, draw nutrients out of the intestines, into the blood stream, and into the muscles with great efficiency!
2. This is just one approach to gaining mass. I don’t typically recommend this much protein at one sitting but it worked for Steve. I like to spread out the protein meals evenly!
3. There is no max. The goal is to do the least amount of cardio necessary to get in the best condition. I have had athletes do over 3 hours in extreme situations.
4. You need to reduce cardio to gain size. Drop it down to 3 days per week and follow my offseason diet on the first page of the thread.

Dave i want to put on some size at least 20lbs more. what supplementation would you recommend for me stack and why would that work?
DP: This is way too broad of a question…follow my mass gaining diet at the beginning of the thread and you should have no trouble putting on size.

What’s your opinion on site growth with test suspension? Was going to back it up with some igf poss hgh, whats a good range dose of those?
DP: The only site growth you will get is a lump from the injection. If you want to do site injections use synthol.

Hey Dave, compared to “muscle memory”: is there such a thing like “fatloss memory”? so once i’m really lean it would be easier for to drop bodyfat again if i had to?
DP: It’s easy to gain fat weight if you once had a lot– fat cells never die, they just shrink.

Over the years of training I’ve never got my shoulders to really pop. Does that come from having a low bodyfat, or is there a specific way you’d recommend training them? Thanks
DP: Make sure you are not over-training them. Start with a heavy pressing move for 3 sets and then hit 2 sets of side laterals and 2 sets of rear laterals, and 1-2 sets of front raises. You can throw in one more exercise such as SHRUGS to finish off the upper traps!

Dave, I read your protocol on the DHT’s but I don’t have clomid avail to me so I was going to get the TESTOSTOLYZE but you are out. Where and when can I get it? I’m currently on test e and winstrol; 5 weeks in. Also, when should I start it. Im worried about getting the gyno if I dont get somethin!!!!
DP: TESTOSTOLYZE is currently out of stock. Get some of Gaspari’s Novadex XT (it’ll more than do the job)

I have heard a lot of good and bad about insulin use, and obviously common sense is paramount when using it, but my biggest worry is i have heard you can become insulin resistant yourself and become a type ll diabetic
is this true?
and what in your opinion is the safest way to use it to reduce or eliminate your chances of self induced diabetes
DP: This is totally false…your beta cells will also produce as much insulin as necessary (unless you are a Type I diabetic). If you add insulin, they will produce less and if you stop using exogenous insulin they will produce more. The best way to reduce the chances of developing diabetes is to exercise, eat healthy, and maintain a healthy level bodyfat and general well being.

I’ve been training for mass for quite some time now, gained a good 30lbs+ of quality muscle. I’ll be jumping into your Keto Diet pretty soon, but I currently feel run down since I’ve been hitting the wieghts hard and heavy for more than 3 months.
Would you recommend a week off from training while going on your Keto Diet?
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
DP: Take a week to rest your body and mind. Don’t gorge, but give yourself a dieting break too, then come back to the gym and start up your diet again.

I’m currently using the prescription med remeron for sleep and was curious if u knew if this would have any effect on my gains? Also, if starting a basic cycle of test at 500 milligrams a week would affect my sleep negatively? Btw really loving the site man. awesome job
DP: There are no obvious contraindications with the medication. The androgenic qualities of testosterone can have a negative effect on sleep, but it’s usually mild and you ‘ll adjust after a brief period. If you’re really having trouble falling asleep, try SOMALYZE (3 pills with your last meal before bed)

DP: Proviron is weak compared to the other alternatives available today. Your final cycle should include testosterone, trenbolone, winstrol, and arimidex. They will do everything Proviron can do and more.

Dave, for a woman using your diet, is it OK if she doesn’t engage in any kind of physical activity apart from cardio? My friend is on it but she doesn’t lift weights.
Also, is it possible for her to drop one of the meals? She works hard and probably wouldn’t have time to fit in 5 in a day
DP: We all work hard and I am sure she can find time to eat. It only takes a few seconds to drink a shake. She should start with the basic diet and adjust from there. She doesn’t have to weight train, but if she does it will improve her results.

DP: There is no specific list, but anything can irritate the condition. You need to carefully introduce food and supplements to your diet one at a time to make sure it doesn’t worsen your situation.

I get this terrible pain in my two forearms after I do straight bar heavy barbell curls. It feels as though the bone on both forearms is about to snap after a couple heavy sets. Its the same pinching pain in the same spot on both arms, it doesnt feel as though its the muscle, feels almost as if its the bone or nerves. I thought I was the only one that suffered from this but apparently its pretty common. This doesnt happen when I use the cambered bar or dumbells.
What the hell is it? Is it common? Should I just stick to cambered bars and dumbbells? Do I need stronger bones? WTF?!
DP: The tendons in your arms run from your fingers all the way up your forearm. The nerves are all connected and the stress you’re placing on your wrist is creating the pain in your forearm. If it hurts, don’t do it! No one said you have to do any one exercise to build muscle.

Hey Dave, question regarding Toney Freeman’s pec tear. He doesnt seem to have a Q&A thread so I thought id ask you since, you’re the authority on all things X-Man!
Do you know if his tear has made his torn pec mechanically weaker than his left one. I ask because i had a bankart repair 3.5 mths ago, and I’m thinking my mechanically weak right pec may have forced the shoulder to bear the brunt of the bench press stress therefore overload it and tear my labrum.
What are your thoughts on my issue?
And do you know does Toney deal with anything like this?
DP: I’m pretty sure that Toney has full strength in the torn pec now since its reattachment. It took him a while to regain that strength; however, time heals all wounds. Give yourself a good 6 months to a year to regain full functionality!

Looking to shed bodyfat and will be running your keto diet. I have a family that needs me in the evening so I get up at 3:30am to go to the gym. I have a total of 1.5 hour to workout or do cardio.
Once fat loss slows (or stops) and with additional cardio time not being an option what should I do? Drop calories? Fat or protein? Cut out cheat meal? Do more cardio and less weights?
FYI. I have ran the keto diet twice before. 1st time I lost 25lbs. 2nd time I lost 0 lbs and and some fat but not much.
DP: The first step will be to rotate in days of lower fat along with some veggies. You might start out with 1 protein/fat day and 1 protein/veggie day and then keep tweaking the ratio as fat loss slows. You might also look to sneak in a little more cardio wherever possible; a 20min walk or bike ride with the family all help.

DP: Take 1mg every other day for the first week and then 1mg 2x per week for maintenance. Once you get a nice base color, play around with the dose. With anything, you want to find the least effective dose that does the most.

I was wondering what your thoughts on HIIT while in keto. You and Charles Poliquin both share similar views on dieting and he swears by HIIT
DP: High intensity cardio is a bad idea on a ketogenic diet and will likely burn muscle. Stick with low intensity cardio (heart rate under 130bpm).

question dave…i weight around 280 now have been dropping weight, im 23 years old…..when running, what is the best way for a bigger person to breathe? in through the nose and out through the mouth?
DP: Running at that weight is going to be brutal on your joints. If you are looking to lose fat, try some low intensity cardio, it’s what I recommend to all my athletes for maximum fat loss without sacrificing muscle.
